Arkansas Rural Community Grant: Up to $15,000, Cycle I Deadline August 13

The Arkansas Economic Development Commission Division of Rural Services has made FY2027 Rural Community Grant Program applications available. Eligible rural communities can request up to $15,000 in state matching funds.

Who Can Apply

The program is for applicants from incorporated towns with fewer than 3,000 people and unincorporated rural areas in Arkansas.

How the Match Works

• Maximum award: Up to $15,000
• Match requirement: 50/50 match
• Match sources: Cash, in-kind labor, or in-kind materials
• Match timing: The match must be available at the time of application

Eligible Project Examples

The Rural Community Grant can support community development and fire protection projects. Past examples include:

• Community centers, pavilions, parks, playgrounds, walking tracks, and library shelving
• Fire stations, station bays, fire trucks, brush trucks, turnout gear, communications equipment, and SCBA equipment
• Other community improvements that fit the program rules

Key Deadlines

• Applications accepted: August through March
• FY2027 Cycle I deadline: August 13, 2026
• FY2027 Cycle II deadline: March 11, 2027
