Kansas Registered Apprenticeship Small Business Grant: $7,000 Available, Apply by April 24
Kansas small businesses now have a new chance to get paid help setting up apprenticeship programs. The Kansas Department of Commerce has opened a new round of its Small Business Registered Apprenticeship Grant Program, offering $7,000 per award.
What Changed This Round
This round expanded eligibility significantly:
- Businesses with up to 25 full-time employees can now apply (up from the previous limit of 10)
- Employers already in a Registered Apprenticeship program who have not yet hired an apprentice can apply for the first time
What the Money Covers
Grant funds can be used for:
- Staff time to build the apprenticeship program
- Training equipment
- Technical instruction
- Contracted services
- Administrative costs
Note: Apprentice wages are not a covered expense.

In the most recent round, four Kansas businesses each received $7,000:
- Daltons Heating and Cooling — HVAC
- Gifted Care Service LLC — Healthcare
- Little Kyngs and Queens Daycare — Early Childhood Education
- Rincks Dwood Plumbing LLC — Plumbing
