The Department of the Interior Office of Insular Affairs is accepting applications for the OIA Technical Assistance Program 2026. This round offers $22,500,000 for short-term projects that address urgent economic, financial, public service, and capacity needs in eligible insular areas.
What the Funding Covers
- Audits, accountability, and financial management improvements.
- Economic development, training, and capacity-building projects.
- Management, IT modernization, and energy initiatives.
- Natural and cultural resource management, youth programs, health initiatives, public safety, and disaster planning or recovery.
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include local government entities, component units, hospitals, health centers, colleges and universities, and nonprofit organizations in the United States and its territories, plus international entities whose projects directly benefit American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Republic of Palau. Judicial and legislative branches of local governments are not eligible.
