Allegheny County Launches $4M Main Streets Grant Program for Small Businesses and Neighborhoods
If you're a small business owner, nonprofit, or municipality in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania — there's over $4 million in grant funding available right now through a new county-backed initiative called Main Streets Allegheny.
County Executive Sara Innamorato announced the program in February 2026. The goal: strengthen local business districts, fund community events, support small businesses directly, and invest in neighborhood revitalization — without relying on private development.
What Funding Is Available?
The program includes four distinct grant categories:
1. Small Business Support and Capital Grants
Direct monetary grants for local small businesses to support operations and growth. Targeted at businesses in Allegheny County's main street commercial corridors.
2. Events and Activation Grants
Grants for organizations and neighborhoods to host community events, festivals, and pop-up activities that bring people to local business districts. Open to all of Allegheny County, including Pittsburgh city limits.

3. Implementation and Placemaking Grants
Funds for murals, lighting, signage, and wayfinding projects that improve the look and feel of business districts. Open to municipalities outside Pittsburgh city limits.
