LA County Commercial Acquisition Fund: $2.6 Million Available, Applications Open May 5, 2026
Los Angeles County and Genesis LA are launching the second funding cycle of the LA County Commercial Acquisition Fund. The program is making about $2.6 million available in forgivable financing to help eligible applicants buy commercial property and turn vacant or underused sites into community-serving spaces.
What the Funding Covers
- Purchase of vacant, abandoned, under-leased, or under-utilized commercial properties
- Projects that revitalize neighborhood commercial corridors
- Owner-occupied or leased community-serving commercial space
- Property acquisitions that reduce displacement and support long-term local ownership
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants include independently owned small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and mission-aligned developers in Los Angeles County. Small businesses generally must have $16 million or less in average gross annual receipts over the last three years and 100 employees or fewer or, for manufacturers, 25 or fewer employees. Applicants also need a Los Angeles County business address, at least three years of active operations, and good standing.
